Daniel Faiella

I’m attracted to [plein air painting] because my main artistic impulse is to create pictures that incorporate landscapes under varying light effects, and the most direct way of experiencing and studying those effects is by painting outdoors. I love the meditative experience of going back to a spot day after day, trying to catch one instant in an evolving view that never looks the same from one minute to another.

My participation in The Hudson River Fellowship allowed me to encounter a group of like-minded, serious artists who all had a slightly different take on the same artistic goals.
