Sanna Tomac

Sanna Tomac is a Swedish figurative painter, born in 1973, whose work and life are deeply rooted in the classical tradition. She studied drawing and painting at the Florence Academy of Art from 1996 to 1998, later apprenticing briefly with Odd Nerdrum in Norway. In 2001 she co‑founded Pantura Studios in the US and in 2006 she returned to Sweden to co-found The Swedish Academy of Realist Art (SARA), where she serves as Artistic Director. Her expressive, symbolic work explores myth, human form, emotion and spiritual resonance. Among her most notable projects is the monumental painting for the Baroque ceiling of the Bååtska Palace in Stockholm. Her paintings and drawings are held in public and private collections worldwide.
